Poison Dart Frog

The Poisonous dart frog is blue with black spots. It is poisonous. These types of frogs are diurnal meaning they come out during the day.  Poisonous dart frogs eat many kinds of small insects including fruit flies, ants, termites’ young crickets, tiny beetles. Scientists think these beatles are responsible for the frog’s toxicity.

Location/Habitat: Where it lives or where it is found (one paragraph).

Poison dart frogs live in the rainforest habitats in central and south America. they can be found in trees as well as under leaves and logs and rocks on the floor of the forest. They are hard to see because of the small size.

Dynamics: A special or unusual fact about your animal.

There are more than 100 species of poison dart frogs including, those that live in the Amazon. Climate change and habitat loss threatens their survival.

My goal setting

We have been setting our goals. We chose someone who came to Turanaganui-a-kiwa on the Horouta waka. I chose Hineakua because she was organised and I need to be ready to do my work.

My Lenten Promises

Today was the first day of Lent. The day before was shrove tuesday so we made pancakes. For lent I gave up playing on my ipad. Lent is about fasting, almsgiving and praying more. Lent gets us ready for Easter.

My name is William. I am in year 6 at St Mary’s School in Gisborne.I live with my mum, dad and sister.  I have 2 cats.

I am good at writing. I want to get better at maths.

I am looking forward to the end of the year because Mrs Naden always does cool things then.

Phishing and scams

Today we were learning about phishing and scams.

I enjoyed linking the slides.

I found it hard to pick the colours on the slides.

Parihaka

Today we were learning about Parihaka. I learnt that an albatross landed on the chiefs marae and left behind a feather. The soldiers came and the people of Parihaka were dancing and making bread for them. They were welcoming them. The soldiers didn't kill them because they were feeling guilty. So they put them in jail. When they got out of jail they rebuilt the village. They wore a white albatross feather to show they were a place of peace.
My digital learning object show the values of the people of Parihaka.
I enjoyed making the background.
I found it challenging to find a feather because the feathers were a rainbow.
Next time I would change the font of the title because there are cooler ones.
