Report Writing

This week we are learning how to structure a good report. We were given cut up strips of writing with sentences on them. We had to put it together and make it make sense and make paragraphs. Then we glued it onto paper.
I found out that a paragraph needed to have more than 2 sentences and the sentences were about the same thing.
I learnt that in a report you have to the classification, a dynamic fact, where it lives (habitat), and what it looks like (description). You could also have a paragraph about what it eats.
I found it tricky to put it together because it was hard to space out my paragraphs.
My digital learning object shows that I can take a photo of my learning and post it on my blog.

I found it easy to voice type it in.

Today I was learning about famous paintings while searching for a painting to copy.
I found it easy to design it.
I found it tricky to find a painting that I liked.
Next time I would do a harder one.

Lockdown diary

Today I was learning how to use Google drawings.
I found it easy to draw the pictures.
I found it tricky to think of words to say.
I am able to youse all the Google drawing tools.

Classification: What is it?

Poison Dart Frog

Description: Describe features of the animal. Include what it looks like (one paragraph) and what it eats (one paragraph).

The Poisonous dart frog is blue with black spots. It is poisonous. These types of frogs are diurnal meaning they come out during the day.  Poisonous dart frogs eat many kinds of small insects including fruit flies, ants, termites’ young crickets, tiny beetles. Scientists think these beatles are responsible for the frog’s toxicity.

Location/Habitat: Where it lives or where it is found (one paragraph).

Poison dart frogs live in the rainforest habitats in central and south America. they can be found in trees as well as under leaves and logs and rocks on the floor of the forest. They are hard to see because of the small size.

Dynamics: A special or unusual fact about your animal.

There are more than 100 species of poison dart frogs including, those that live in the Amazon. Climate change and habitat loss threatens their survival.

Going to Tauranga

Today I was writing about going to Tauranga
I enjoyed spending time with my Dad.
I found it challenging remembering everything I did.
Next time I would put in more descriptive words in my story.

Climate Change

We are learning how to structure.
I enjoyed finding facts.
I found it hard to write it so I voice typed.

What is climate change ? How can we stop climate change? Climate change is the Earth warming up. I think climate change is bad. The Wildfires in the Amazon is causing climate change. Burning fossil fuels is bad, for making big clouds and trapping the heat in and animals suffer because of it.

Wildfires causes climate change in the Amazon. This year there have been 72,000 fires in the Amazon. The fires in the Amazon are killing the number of animals and plants. It's bad to lose the plants because it gives us oxygen and it gives the animals houses, shade and food. The native people have to keep moving the tribes away from the fires because their houses could burn. And they can't get any food or water. They cannot hunt or gather food from the trees as they are burnt.

Burning fossil fuels is bad because once it's used it's used. We have been burning oils and gases for over 150 years. It's bad because it's trapping heat in the earth. It's making it warm up and it's melting the ice caps. It’s bad because Polar bears live there.

Animals are suffering because of this. Polar bears raise their young, hunt and hide in the ice but they can't do that if the ice is melting. Orangutans are suffering as well. People are cutting down trees and making bush fires and it's causing climate change. So it's affecting the orangutans because they can't climb trees and get away from predators. They don't have any food because the trees are gone and the trees give them food.

Climate change is warming the ocean.  It's causing heat waves, rising sea levels and storms. It's harming the sea animals.

I think climate change is bad because of what it's doing to Planet Earth. I think it's wrong to ruin the earth and kill the plants and animals.
