Phishing and scams

Today we were learning about phishing and scams.

I enjoyed linking the slides.

I found it hard to pick the colours on the slides.

Parihaka

Today we were learning about Parihaka. I learnt that an albatross landed on the chiefs marae and left behind a feather. The soldiers came and the people of Parihaka were dancing and making bread for them. They were welcoming them. The soldiers didn't kill them because they were feeling guilty. So they put them in jail. When they got out of jail they rebuilt the village. They wore a white albatross feather to show they were a place of peace.
My digital learning object show the values of the people of Parihaka.
I enjoyed making the background.
I found it challenging to find a feather because the feathers were a rainbow.
Next time I would change the font of the title because there are cooler ones.

Going to Tauranga

Today I was writing about going to Tauranga
I enjoyed spending time with my Dad.
I found it challenging remembering everything I did.
Next time I would put in more descriptive words in my story.

Media

Today I was learning about what media is.

I enjoyed making the T.V in my slide show.

I found it challenging to find pictures.

Next time I would change the colour of the back round.

Making A Plane

 On the weekend I made a plane.

You will need:
Find some wood.
Staples and a staple gun.
Paint and paintbrush.
One screw.
One Cork.
One saw.
Steps:
Shape the Body.
Make the wings.
Attach the wings to the body.
 Carve the front wheels.
 Attach the front wheels .
 Cut the cork.
 Attach the cork to the back.
cut out a Propeller.
 Attach the Propeller with the screw.
 Paint the plane.

Now you are done

We are leaning to make persuasive advertisement.
I found hard to get good pictures.
I found it easy  to advertise.

Pool

At school we have been doing animations using google slides. I had fun doing it so at home I made a new one on playing pool.

Climate Change

We are learning how to structure.
I enjoyed finding facts.
I found it hard to write it so I voice typed.

What is climate change ? How can we stop climate change? Climate change is the Earth warming up. I think climate change is bad. The Wildfires in the Amazon is causing climate change. Burning fossil fuels is bad, for making big clouds and trapping the heat in and animals suffer because of it.

Wildfires causes climate change in the Amazon. This year there have been 72,000 fires in the Amazon. The fires in the Amazon are killing the number of animals and plants. It's bad to lose the plants because it gives us oxygen and it gives the animals houses, shade and food. The native people have to keep moving the tribes away from the fires because their houses could burn. And they can't get any food or water. They cannot hunt or gather food from the trees as they are burnt.

Burning fossil fuels is bad because once it's used it's used. We have been burning oils and gases for over 150 years. It's bad because it's trapping heat in the earth. It's making it warm up and it's melting the ice caps. It’s bad because Polar bears live there.

Animals are suffering because of this. Polar bears raise their young, hunt and hide in the ice but they can't do that if the ice is melting. Orangutans are suffering as well. People are cutting down trees and making bush fires and it's causing climate change. So it's affecting the orangutans because they can't climb trees and get away from predators. They don't have any food because the trees are gone and the trees give them food.

Climate change is warming the ocean.  It's causing heat waves, rising sea levels and storms. It's harming the sea animals.

I think climate change is bad because of what it's doing to Planet Earth. I think it's wrong to ruin the earth and kill the plants and animals.

Math Quiz

We were learning to link slides together so it sent you to the right one.
I found it easy to link the slides.
It was hard to pick the colours. I had to learn how to embed my slides again.
Next time I would make more slides to make muy quiz longer.

Interdependence

For Reading, we have been learning about interdependence. I enjoyed finding pictures. I found it hard to insert a background. My digital learning object shows I can use a google drawing to explain interdependence. Next time I would change the giraffe so it was a real one and not a drawing.

Tom Fedro

We are learning about Tom Fedro so we painted some pictures.

We had to:

Draw an outline with pencil.

Paint black over the pencil line.

Paint it colourful.

Paint over the black lines again.

Put your name on it.

I enjoyed drawing the outline. I found it hard to not put paint over the black lines.

Mary MacKillop

Who is Saint Mary MacKillop?
 Mary MacKillop was an Australian nun. She is also a saint. 
What did Saint Mary MacKillop do?
She travelled in Australia and New Zealand and helped kids and she was a teacher. 
How did she become a Saint?
In June 1995 Mary MacKillop was beatified by Pope John Paul II.

Mrs Chrisp

Mrs Chisp helps me Kai Blaze Ezra Jeremy and Kharn write. I learnt lots about everybody I learnt that Jeremy likes hot dogs and that Kharn wants a p.s 4. Ms crisp read us a book called bubble gum brain.

St Frances Xavier Cabrini

We are learning about saints. I have been researching St Frances Xavier Cabrini. I enjoyed finding out about her. I found it difficult to write my report because there were some difficult words and I didn't know what they meant.

Francesca was born in 1850. She is from Italy. When she was little she dream to go to China to be a missionary.

Francesca heard God calling her to be a nun but she wasn't allowed because of her  bad health.

Francesca first worked in a village school and then she worked in an orphanage.She enjoyed working with the kids. The Bishop allowed Francesca to take her vows and become a Nun.  She was known as mother Frances Xavier Cabrini. It was from her favourite missionary saint,  St Francis Xavier. She started a new missionary for nuns called the Missionary Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. The sisters started schools and orphanages for children. Then the Pope told her to go to America  to look after the poor. Mother Cabrini traveled to America. She cared for the poor children by giving them food and hope. She took taught them maths and reading in the orphanages.

Mother Frances Xavier Cabrini became a saint because she cared for poor and sick children by opening schools, orphanages and hospitals.
