July student reflection newspaper

We are reflecting  on are learning in July.
We reflect on what we have been doing during the months so we know what we have achieved and what we have done and where to next.
I found it easy to take a selfie of myself.
I found it tricky to make the 10 stars fit in.
Next time I would try and find a better background for my selfie because there is a notice behind me.

David Williams fact file

This term we started reading Slime so we had to do a fact file about David Walliams.
I found it easy to find the facts.
I found it tricky to find pictures to put in.

Faith poster

This week Miss Steel gave the whole school a challenge. It was to do a Faith poster. You had to write faith in a place where you could say it clearly. A quote from the Bible and write what faith means.

I think Faith gives people hope, by saying I can do it is hope and believing in that is faith. 

I missed out on handing my poster in for the challenge because I was a day late.

Report Writing

This week we are learning how to structure a good report. We were given cut up strips of writing with sentences on them. We had to put it together and make it make sense and make paragraphs. Then we glued it onto paper.
I found out that a paragraph needed to have more than 2 sentences and the sentences were about the same thing.
I learnt that in a report you have to the classification, a dynamic fact, where it lives (habitat), and what it looks like (description). You could also have a paragraph about what it eats.
I found it tricky to put it together because it was hard to space out my paragraphs.

My First Flying Lesson

During the school holidays I got to have my first flying lesson. I spun around in the air. I flew for half an hour. I flew over my house, my auntie's house, and my school. I flew at 15:00 on Saturday 4 July 2020.
I enjoyed Landing because when I landed I could feel the back of the plane just go down.
I found it tricky to see of the dashboard.

Cardboard Police Car

During the school holidays I made a police car.

I enjoyed trying to fit the lights in.

I found it tricky to draw designs on it.

Hula Hoop Piggy In The Middle

During the school holidays me my nana and my sister made up a new game, it's called hula hoop piggy in the middle.
Rules.
There are 2 people on either side and one person in the middle off to one side.
One of the two people on the sides have to throw the hula hoop or bounce it or roll it to the other person on the other side when they do this the person in the Middle on the side has to run into the middle and try and grab it.

Steps High Score

I have been doing Steps for three years to help me with my spelling. It is a fun programme. This term during steps when I was playing a game called Blocks, it is like Tetris, on the last day of term I bet my highest score it was  4230 and now it is 4445. My goal for over the holidays is to get to Level c.

Matariki star

This week for writing were doing a paper star to hang up on a wire going across the room.
Every side of the star had different information about each star.
I found it easy to colour it in.
I found it hard to think of what stars should write about.

Matariki breakfast

This morning we had a sheared breakfast to celebrate Matariki.
It was delicious and super fun.
I enjoyed trying to eat the orange skin. I ate it in the end.
